With an amplifier already designed and in production, Australian Monitor needed to complete a product series retaining the same aesthetic values. Taking aesthetic cues from the previous amplifier, the design needed to accommodate the clients technical package and user interface while utilizing materials and production methods to make the range more economically efficient.
My role was to manage all aspects of product development from concept to manufacture, including design of PCBs and component layouts, over-moulded control switches, plastics engineering, screen printed graphics, engineering drawings and specifications, prototyping and product testing. Overseeing tooling and production with variation reports in consultation with international toolmakers and manufacturers.
